AfriForum has filed a fresh contempt of court application against Julius Malema and the EFF after his University of Limpopo comments about occupying land in Stellenbosch, despite losing this exact fight at the Constitutional Court twice. AfriForum wants a R500,000 fine and up to 18 months in prison.
Meanwhile in the US, pregnant South African Nqobile Malangeni remains in ICE detention in Nevada after being surrounded by agents at a Las Vegas airport. We break down what actually happened versus how it’s being framed online.
And at the Madlanga Commission, ANC North West treasurer Suliman Carrim’s repeated no-shows have led the commission to instruct a criminal charge be laid against him, while his earlier testimony about payments made “out of fear” to businessman Hangwani Morgan Maumela gets dragged back into the spotlight.
Full breakdown, no filter.
