This weekend’s picks have a distinctly North American flavour with Paige Bueckers’ Dallas Wings in WNBA action and the iconic New York Yankees in the MLB. Sunday ‘s women’s Euro final between England and Spain offers intriguing value too.
UEFA Women’s Euro Final
Spain vs England
England’s Lionesses needed penalties to get past Sweden in the quarters and a 119th-minute Chloe Kelly winner in the semis against Italy. La Roja are on a 10-match winning streak, scoring 17 goals at this tournament to date. England have conceded first in three of their five matches at this Euros so they might have to do things the hard way again against a side that hasn’t conceded in the knockout stages. England might also have to do without star attacker Lauren James who sustained an injury in the semis.
Basketball
WNBA
Dallas Wings vs Golden State Valkyries
23-year-old Wings point guard Paige Bueckers is the talk of the Women’s NBA. She leads the team in scoring with 18.2 points per game, shooting 84.0% from the free-throw line and 44.9% from the field. Valkyries star player Tiffany Hayes will want to run the show and her side is favourite to win, but Bueckers will cause a splash as always.

Major League Baseball
New York Yankees vs Phillies
Aaron Judge is the key man in the Yankees offense with 37 home runs, 84 Runs batted in (RBIs) and a .345 batting average.
Tennis
Emma Raducanu’s uptick in form continues. After a fourth round appearance at Wimbledon, the 22-year-old Briton is into the quarter-finals at the Mubadala Citi DC Open. She’s already dispatched four-time major winner Naomi Osaka and seventh-seeded Marta Kostyuk en route, so back her to get to the semis at the expense of the unpredictable Greek star Maria Sakkari makes a lot of sense.
