In this update, we examine developments in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court, where Victor Majola, described in court as a Soweto taxi boss, was denied bail.
The magistrate pointed to strong state evidence, including alleged CCTV footage, cellphone records, and an alibi that was ultimately rejected as unreliable. Concerns were also raised about Majola being a potential flight risk and the possibility of interference with witnesses, factors that weighed heavily in the court’s decision.
The refusal of bail signals the seriousness with which the case is being treated at this early stage. With the matter set to continue on 11 February, the state appears confident in the strength of its case, and there are indications that further arrests may still follow. As proceedings continue, Truth Report remains committed to reporting only confirmed facts and avoiding speculation while the legal process runs its course.
Alongside the court update, we highlight the official BackaBuddy campaign, Hold the Line, launched with the full support and consent of the Stock family. The initiative is aimed at supporting the three sons of DJ Warras and reflects the values of this community, creators supporting creators, people helping people, and ensuring those left behind are not forgotten. If you’re able to donate, thank you.
If not, sharing the campaign still makes a real difference. We will continue to provide updates as this case develops.
