Fellow Truth Report anchor Joe Emilio raised the alarm on social media about an attempted hack on his independent NewsFlash documentary’s website, titled Stolen Ground, on Wednesday 18 July.
Emilio told Truth Report that hackers failed to access the documentary website’s back-end url, in what he wonders to be an “attempt to silence truth”.

“It was apparent due to failed login attempts, which was picked up again this morning, in which someone was trying to get access to the site. Maybe to troll the site or to possibly remove it. I’m not sure,” Emilio shared on Thursday.
He added that additional security measures have been put in place, while sharpening responses and monitoring any further hacking attempts.

The documentary investigates the alleged orchestrated and violent land grab of the Tygerberg Raceway in 2020. The film features the owner of the racetrack Chris Liebenberg and figures like JP Smith, City of Cape Town’s mayco member for safety and security.
For decades, this landmark motorsport institution was more than just a racetrack. It was the heartbeat for grassroots motorsport, a space where families gathered, dreams were built and communities thrived.

Fast forward to present day, it is said to have been swallowed whole — not by development, but by chaos. The documentary purports that this event at the Tygerberg Racetrack is not an isolated event but part of a growing national crisis.
“This original production digs deep into the Prevention of Illegal Evections (PIE) Act and how it weaponises land occupation, the rise of shack farming syndicates and the economy of illegal settlements,” Emilio said.
